The courtyard

On entering a Ryad, the views are directly out to a traditional courtyard, which acts as the building's central feature. The courtyards combine local tiles, soothing water features and exotic planting, for a relaxed and cooling environment.

The main rooms all look out onto the courtyard and are linked by large 180-degree hinged, glazed doors.

The Ryads are designed to maximise al fresco living, and each has its own swimming pool and carport.

The living rooms

The drawing room is a dramatic double-height space with oversized windows, offering views onto the landscaped gardens and pool. The room also features a large double-sided fireplace with a glazed panel to the centre, allowing views to the courtyard. The room is a sophisticated blend of coloured, polished plaster and timber ceilings combined with local porcelain tiles.

The dining room has its own outside dining area with Moroccan-style recessed seating for the warmer months. Inside, the dining room is treated with warm tones to the plastered walls. A simple stone fireplace is centred opposite the full-height windows, which open onto the internal courtyard.

Technology

Each property is equipped with Cat 5 wiring, a broadband network, television and telephone points and is fitted with additional hi-fi wiring.

Bedrooms

The light and airy master bedroom has large windows onto the garden terrace as well as full-height windows opening up to the courtyard. The room is finished in a light coloured plaster, with a decorative moulding detail running around the room. The ceiling's simple, painted timber beams will create a gentle shadow to the room when lit softly in the evening.

The bedroom's dual walk-in wardrobes are fitted out with full-height hanging shirt drawers and shoe racks. The dressing area is fully timber paneled and has full-length mirrors. The dressing area leads into a large bathroom. A stone double vanity with a decorative glazed mirror will be installed, with the latest in lighting technology to allow for a good make-up area. Soft coloured porcelain tiles are combined with local stones to create a luxurious feel.

The Ryad's second and third bedrooms are on the upper level, where there are spectacular roof terraces. These offer Moroccan-style covered bhou and covered bar areas. The terrace has wonderful views over the landscaped gardens.
